Want to Submit a Resource? Here's How...

External Links

External links are easy. If you have a relevant resource (even a webquest or an entire site) that you'd like me to link to, just let me know and I'll link to it. As long as it's relevant to K-12 education or college-level chemistry, there won't be much debate.

Documents or Other Files

If you have an activity, lab, or project that you'd like to share with the community (and we can all use one more lab!), just email it to me as long as the file size is under 1 megabyte. Be sure to include a short description of the stuff you're sending, what topics it addresses, whether or not you'd like to be credited, and if you have any other special instructions. Chances are, it'll end up on the course materials page post-haste.

If the file(s) is(are) larger than 1 megabyte (a Powerpoint presentation, video, or Flash application, for example), please send me an advance email without attaching the file (this is simply due to the limitations of my email server) - if it's an app or a video, you can send a few screenshots along if you'd like. If you have something that looks good, I'll send you instructions for uploading the file to Digital Dappolone.

In either case, I won't reject a resource or document just because it's similar to others already here. The more, the merrier.

I reserve the right to rename your files and edit their format (not the content, though, don't worry) to get them to conform to my sorting system.

File Formats

IMPORTANT: All files (even if there's only one) must be submitted in a .zip archive. All email messages with file attachements other than .zip will be automatically deleted by my email filter, for security purposes.

I will only accept files in the formats below. If you have something in another format that you think is worthy of submission, please email me first.

Documents must be in MS Word (.doc), MS Excel (.xls) or Portable Document Format (.pdf). I can accept MS Office 2007 files (.docx, .xlsx). You can also send OpenOffice files, they're easy enough to convert. Regardless of the format you send, I'll post them as PDFs to make them manageable for all platforms.

I can accept images in .jpg, .gif, .png, and .bmp formats. No .tif files, please, they're annoying.

For MS Powerpoint, please submit the entire presentation in a .zip file. I will post it as a self-contatined presentation, but I'd like the whole thing just in case.

For a Flash app or movie, the compiled .swf file is all that I need.

I can also post files from various molecular modeling software packages, such as ChemDraw, Chem3D, jMol, GAMESS, McMolPLot, etc. The formats for these vary, so please send me an advance email before sending files of this type.
